Albie
Hi! I’m Albie Ellyard, but I like to be called Albie Wild, as I love the wild.
I’m 12 years old and I’m completely obsessed with wildlife photography. I was born in the UAE, grew up in Dubai until I was 8, and now I live in Tanzania—which is honestly the best place ever for seeing animals in the wild.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to over 116 countries, and I’ve had some amazing wildlife encounters from the Amazon and Brazilian Pantanal to the Galapagos and Africa. Wherever I go, my camera comes with me. I never leave it behind. I even take it to school sometimes (if I’m allowed!).
Living in Tanzania means I’m surrounded by nature every single day. From my front door, I can hear birds and see monkeys in the trees. My absolute favorite places to go on safari are Ndutu, Ruaha, and the Serengeti. Ndutu has incredible big cat sightings and wildebeest action, Ruaha feels super wild and remote with loads of different animals, and the Serengeti is just magical—especially when the migration passes through.
I started learning photography when I was really young, and by the time I was 11, I’d already mastered manual mode. I love having full control over my shots. I don’t mind waking up at 5am every day if it means I get to catch the perfect light or spot something incredible—or even just something ordinary that looks cool through my lens.
Outside of school, I spend pretty much all my time editing photos, researching wildlife, and planning my next shoot. I’m super passionate about conservation and I want to use my photography to help protect animals and nature all over the world.
I love all wildlife—from tiny insects to giant elephants—but wild cats are my absolute favourite. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, caracals, servals, mountain lions, tigers… I think they’re the most powerful, mysterious, and beautiful animals on the planet. I never get tired of photographing them, and I’m always hoping to spot one more!
Thanks for visiting my website. I hope my photos inspire you to love wildlife as much as I do!
— Albie Wild.
I started this website because I want to show other kids how awesome wildlife is! When I go outside with my camera, I see so many cool creatures and beautiful places—and I want you to see them too. I think if more kids get out into nature, we’ll all start to care more about our planet. The animals, the forests, the oceans—they all need our help.
So come explore with me! Let’s learn about the wild, love it, and do our part to protect it. Because even though we’re young, we can make a big difference.

Shannon runs Africa Eco Expeditions in the Lobo Valley, Serengeti. She is an amazing photographer and after one phone call, offered to teach and mentor me in the camp. She has spent days with me, searching for sighting and guiding my technical ability and creative flair! Shannon - thank you, you are awesome!

Lewis has taught me Wildlife photography every week for the past year, check him out on 'Lewis O'Shea Photography'. Lewis has spent many hours after school with me, shooting anything we can find, teaching me all things technical and helping me with creativity and composition. Thank you for sharing your passion and your love of photography!

Hamisi has taken me to so many national parks and in particular my favourite Ndutu!

Harry at Africa Eco Expeditions in Lobo has spent days with me searching for sightings, moving vehicles and helping me find the perfect angle and the perfect lighting. He has so much patience and will wait with me for hours whilst I wait for animals to arise from their sleep and move in the hope of a great photography shot!
